THE LOBI SNAKES

Spirits that were banished from reality.

In some parts of our planet, we still acknowledge and respect the presence of inexplicable forces that may bring us harm or benefit. It is

a deep-seated belief rooted in every human being, as we all evolved from the past, intertwined with nature and spirits. Nowadays, nature is often constrained by concrete, confined within boundaries, and urban environments, kept in a pot. Referring to the ancient tradition of the Lobi People, settled in West Africa, we have created a collection that harmonizes the contrast between our contemporary post-modernist, consumerist society and the deeply anchored human essence.

The Lobi Snakes are beautiful crafts created to bridge the gap between the spirit world and the human realm. These small objects were given agency to protect the owner from malevolent spirits, such as danger and illness.

In our collection, we aim for the Lobi Snakes to play their part in balancing the two poles and closing the gap that we have created. With their organic shapes, they slither around buttons, belts, collars, and participate in the unconventional patterns that are accustomed to in our western society.

In our collection, we seek to merge utility and fashion in an original and balanced manner.

The Lobi People have inspired us with their faith and resistance in preserving their traditions. Believing in one’s own tradition is a message we want to share. Often, we lose sight of what truly matters by getting lost in the illusion of what might be desirable.

In this collection, tradition and modern interpretation come together to create a unique fusion — a fusion that not only represents clothing but

also tells a story of protection, inspiration, and connection.
